About our project

   Our project the Story of the Seed is a yearlong project where we follow the growth of our seeds. The project is for Mr. Bursch's biology 1-2 course at Willow Glen High School. Students get into working groups of four and are assigned seeds. We plant 10 seeds each into 4 different bags with different solutions. The solutions are the controlled variable, regular water, 1% NaCl water, 4% NaCl water, and 8% NaCl water. We are to observe the affects of the seeds in each solution and how they grow. Before we make our hypothesis and test to see if its true. All of us have to come in and note down the changes each day in our seeds throughout the project. We also have to maintain a blog, and take accurate measurements, photographs, analyze data, and draw conclusions on our data over the days. They are all grown in bags on paper towels with the solutions, and kept in a drawer. They are periodically watered and taken care of as they are observed over the days.
